Plans of Study – Computer Science and Engineering

UConn's Center for Advanced Engineering Education offers a Master of Engineering (MENG) degree program in the following area of concentration: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). 

CSE Master of Engineering students must complete: 

MENG Core Courses (12 credits) 

  • ENGR 5311 – Professional Communication and Information Management 
  • ENGR 5312 – Engineering Project Planning and Management 
  • ENGR 5315 – MENG Capstone Project – Students are encouraged to work on a company-sponsored project 
  • CSE 5050 – Algorithms & Complexity or CSE 5500 Algorithms (choose 1) 

*Students must pass CSE 5050 or CSE 5500 with a grade of B- or higher 

6 Concentration Courses (18 credits) of Computer Science and Engineering graduate courses with graduate advisor approval. 

*Students may take CSE 5500 as an elective if not already taken as a core course. 

Your Plan of Study is determined by your catalog year. Please use your Advisement Report or Academic Requirements Report in StudentAdmin to determine your catalog year. 

Please note: No more than 6 credits can be taken of CSE 5097, 5099, and 5600; at most three credits and successful completion with a grade of B- or better for CSE 5097.
